Nov 4, 2017. The Chevron gas station on the northeast corner of 4th and Macdonald recently closed and was torn down. The lot on the opposite corner was also a gas station, and has sat unoccupied for many years (I heard the land has to sit for several years before someone can build on it, due to toxicity or safety?). I was pleasantly surprised to see that the former Chevron location has turned into a community garden. Must have only happened a few days ago and yet all the spots are apparently taken.
